Adrian Myers, Creator of fine jewellery

Designer-goldsmith, Adrian Myers recently moved to Nelson, where he is continuing his career as a designer goldsmith. “I am developing a new range of gold jewellery representing New Zealand’s native flora, such as Kowhai, Silver Fern, Scarlet Clianthus (Parrot’s Beak), Flax Flowers and a new range of Grape Vine earrings, pendants, brooches and necklaces, inspired by the local vineyards and quality wines of the south island. This new range will supplement my existing range of 18 carat gold floral-jewellery based on both wild and garden flowers and foliage.”
The flower-jewellery is made from 18 carat gold of different colours, diamonds and other precious stones, as well as carved stones, such as New Zealand green stone, and mother of pearl, turquoise, lapis lazuli and carved hardwoods and enamel work.

“To achieve the feeling of living plants and flowers, as a jewellery-designer, I use a whole range of techniques and materials like a palette. By doing so I can tailor the jewellery to suit the clients taste. The designer-goldsmith, by using different coloured golds as well as a range of colours achieved through heat treatment, can recreate both the natural colours in nature and the best colours to suit the client. The clients can either choose an item from stock or from available photographs, or can work with me to design a commissioned piece.”
These floral-designs have resulted in a new, unique, collectable, and very wearable collection of the designer-goldsmiths art.
